Women’s Pastor

NewLife Anglican / Women’s Pastor
Lauren CoxWomen's Pastor

Where are you from?

I grew up in St George area of Sydney in the suburb of Kingsgrove (AKA The Grove).

Tell us about your family.

I am married to my husband Paul and God has blessed us with four wild young men.

How’d you come to know Jesus?

I was invited to church by friend and her family in my late teens. I really enjoyed the friendships that were established and weekly interactions with a genuine group of people, however I didn’t really grasp that having a relationship with Jesus was the most important relationship I was yet to establish.

A beautiful lady went through Christianity explained with me after 2 years of having regularly attending church, she lovingly and prayerfully showed me the gospel within scriptures. For the very first time I understood how much God loved me and how Jesus died so I could be in perfect relationship with God now and for all eternity. I became a follower of Jesus when I was 18.

What did you do before you became a pastor?

My life prior to becoming a pastor didn’t look much different to what it is now.

Most of my days are spent with people, coordinating Playtime, attending LifeGroup and meeting up with people throughout the week.

I also spend my time caring for my family and being involved in my boys activities as much as possible and I work as a registered Nurse within major hospital in our local area.

What inspires you about this role?

I consider it such a privilege to be able to serve God, my church family, as well as the women and families in the community within the role as Woman’s Pastor at NewLife. I find so much joy in opening the Bible with others and wrestling in God’s Word together. I also love walking with ladies in different seasons of their life (good and not so good) and together being able to point each other to the hope there is in Jesus.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I do love watching my boys participate in sport and our family benefitting from all the amazing things that come from sport as in friendships, adventure, and fun in the sun.

I love hanging out on the back veranda with my dog.

I also love having a good belly laugh at my husband’s bad jokes and our boys quirky ways of interacting with each other.
