You can change and God wants you to. But to change first we need to recognise that you don’t have free will. Our wills are captive to the power of the flesh: our weakness and tendency to sin. We don’t have the strength of will in ourselves to change by our own power to be the people God wants us to be free. In order to be free we need God to work in us by his Spirit to change us.
